We’ve set a new strategy to guide the work of Labour Walks and Cycles in the short to medium term.
As we progress we will welcome feedback from members about how we develop the strategy.
- Our ‘North Star’ is to support the UK government in meeting targets from the Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy and Road Safety Strategy.
- Our overall approach is to understand what ministers, members and councillors need to help them support the strategy and work back from there.
- We have Three Pillars of strategy:
- Peer Support: Build networks for Labour politicians and activists to share best practice.
- Labour Values: Link active travel to core Labour values like transport justice, health, and climate.
- Influence: Use relationships and messaging to influence policy at all government levels.
